Commercial security in Kearny Mesa

Kearny Mesa is where we work from: our only office is on Convoy Ct. It also recorded the second-highest count of commercial burglaries in San Diego in 2025, which is a number worth knowing and worth reading carefully.

The data

96 recorded commercial burglaries, second in the city

In calendar year 2025, SDPD's records show 96 commercial burglaries in Kearny Mesa, the second-highest count of any neighbourhood in its data. Sorrento Valley was first, with 104. Citywide, SDPD recorded 1,014 commercial burglaries that year.

Source: San Diego Police Department, Police NIBRS Crime Offenses, City of San Diego Open Data Portal — data.sandiego.gov/datasets/police-nibrs. Period: calendar year 2025 (citywide trend, 2020–2025). Type: COUNT of offences reported to and recorded by SDPD, not an estimate of offences that occurred. Retrieved: 2 September 2026. The commercial and residential split follows the Penal Code section charged and is SDPD's own classification. SDPD began NIBRS reporting in January 2021, so the basis changes at the 2020 boundary, and SDPD notes the data is updated daily and may change as investigations proceed. SDPD's dataset spells the neighbourhood "Kearney Mesa".

Put the two districts together and they account for 200 of the city's 1,014 recorded commercial burglaries, about one in five. That share is our arithmetic on SDPD's counts, not a figure SDPD publishes.

A count is not a rate. There is no published figure for how many commercial premises sit in each San Diego neighbourhood, so nothing in this data says a business in Kearny Mesa is more likely to be burgled than one anywhere else. A district dense with commercial buildings records more offences for that reason alone. Second-highest count is what the data supports, and all it supports.

The citywide direction is down, not up. SDPD's commercial burglary count fell 34.7% between 2020 and 2025, and 14.3% between 2024 and 2025. The full series, the neighbourhood and division tables and the clearance rates are on our San Diego commercial burglary statistics page; this page does not reprint them.

Our own work

Where the surveys start

This is one of our service vans, photographed on the road in San Diego. We are not going to claim it was taken in Kearny Mesa, because the photograph does not say where it was. It is on this page because Kearny Mesa is where the vans leave from: every survey we carry out, in this district or at the far end of the county, starts from the same address on Convoy Ct.

That is the practical meaning of being based here. It is one office and one team, not a network of branches, and the address in our footer, on our Google listing and on this page is the same one.

Working from here

What being based in Kearny Mesa changes, and what it does not

Our office at 7561 Convoy Ct, San Diego, CA 92111 is inside the neighbourhood the figures above describe. We have traded from Kearny Mesa since 2008, and it is the only place we trade from.

What it changes

A survey in Kearny Mesa is short notice to arrange, and a surveyor who can stand in the building designs from what is there: the sightlines, the light at the hours that matter, the route a cable can actually take. That is the part of a system that a floor plan cannot give anybody.

What it does not

It does not come with an arrival time. No response window is evidenced anywhere on this site, so we do not publish one, here or on any other page. It does not make the district's count a statement about your building, either: the reading above applies to our own premises exactly as it applies to yours.

What we would look at first

The same questions we ask anywhere, in the order that decides the design: what each camera position has to prove, who holds the credentials to each door, whether anybody should be watching during the hours the building is empty, and what the cabling underneath it all will carry. The detail is on commercial security camera installation, commercial access control and remote video monitoring.

The city permit, and the licences behind the work

  • Kearny Mesa is inside the City of San Diego. So the permitting authority is the San Diego Police Department: an SDPD alarm permit, Form 1067, is required before an alarm system is monitored, and it is renewed every year. The renewal is the part that lapses; we raise it at survey.
  • Verified before anyone is sent. A monitored activation checked against the cameras is an assessment rather than a bell. How rarely an unverified burglary alarm dispatch finds anything in this city is set out on false alarm statistics for San Diego, and the service is commercial alarm monitoring.
  • The licences. CSLB #976737as a C-7 low voltage contractor for the installation, and BSIS Alarm Company Operator licence ACO #7501 for alarm and monitoring work.
  • What is outside our scope. We do not hold a C-10 or C-16, so fire alarm work is coordinated with your own licensed fire alarm contractor. We work on commercial premises only, not private residences.

Kearny Mesa is one district of the City of San Diego we cover; the rest of the county is on our service area page.

Common questions

Kearny Mesa security questions

The data cannot tell you that, and neither can we. San Diego Police Department recorded 96 commercial burglary offences in Kearny Mesa in calendar year 2025, second only to Sorrento Valley at 104. Those are counts. Nobody publishes how many commercial premises each San Diego neighbourhood contains, so there is no denominator to turn a count into a rate, and a district with a great many commercial buildings will record more offences for that reason alone. The accurate sentence is that Kearny Mesa recorded the second-highest number. Whether a given building here is at more risk than one elsewhere is a question about that building.

SDPD’s Police NIBRS Crime Offenses dataset on the City of San Diego Open Data Portal, calendar year 2025, retrieved on 2 September 2026. It counts offences reported to and recorded by SDPD, which is not the same as every burglary that happened. SDPD separates commercial from residential burglary by the Penal Code section charged, which is its own classification. The dataset is updated daily and SDPD notes that records may change as investigations proceed, so the figure can move slightly when it is extracted again. SDPD spells the neighbourhood “Kearney Mesa” in the data.

Yes. San Diego CCTV Pros works out of 7561 Convoy Ct, San Diego, CA 92111, and has traded since 2008. It is our only office. We do not have branches in other parts of the county, and no page on this site should suggest otherwise.

RelatedCommercial alarm monitoring

We are not going to put a number on that. No arrival time or response window is evidenced anywhere on this site, and a promise you cannot hold us to is worth nothing. What being close genuinely changes is ordinary: a site survey is easy to arrange, and the surveyor can walk the building rather than design from a floor plan.

CSLB #976737, a C-7 low voltage contractor licence, for camera, cabling and intercom installation, and BSIS Alarm Company Operator licence ACO #7501 for alarm and monitoring work. Both are state licences and are checkable with the issuing agency. We do not hold a C-10 or C-16 and do not work on fire alarm systems, and we work on commercial premises only.
